구연은 외반하고 목은 짧으며, 몸체는 둥글고 납작한 형태입니다. 몸체 양측에는 귀를 부착하였고, 타원형의 굽을 갖추었습니다.
철화 안료를 사용하여 몸체의 앞뒷면에 각각 대나무와 매화를 그려 넣었습니다. 농담 표현이 나타나며 철화의 발색이 또렷한 편입니다. 간결한 필치와 구도로 그려내 조선 백자의 품격 있는 여백의 미가 도드라집니다. 회백색의 태토 위에 백자유를 전면에 시유하였습니다. 굽에는 모래받침의 흔적이 남아 있습니다.
사계절 푸르고 곧게 자라는 대나무, 이른 봄 추위를 무릅쓰고 가장 먼저 꽃을 피우는 매화는 군자의 인품을 닮아 난·국화와 함께 사군자라고 불리며, 문인들이 애호하는 소재였습니다. 편병은 일반적인 병 형태와 달리 몸체의 앞뒷면을 편평하게 만든 것으로 야외에서 술병이나 물병으로 사용되었습니다. 이 유물이 제작된 것으로 추정되는 16세기 후반에 백자편병은 경기도 광주 일대의 관요에서 집중적으로 생산되었습니다.

扁瓶口沿外撇，短颈，扁圆腹，腹部两侧附耳，椭圆形圈足。
器身以铁绘装饰，正反两面分别绘饰竹纹与梅纹。画面运用浓淡不同的铁彩表现层次，发色鲜明。整体以简练的笔触与疏朗的构图绘成，充分展现了朝鲜白瓷富有格调的留白之美。通体施白釉，灰白色胎土隐约可见。底足保留有垫砂烧造的痕迹。
四季常青、挺拔坚贞的竹子，与不畏早春严寒、率先绽放的梅花，因象征君子高洁的品格，与兰、菊并称“四君子”，是文人雅士尤为喜爱的题材。扁瓶不同于一般瓶类，其器身前后压扁，便于携带，主要作为外出时盛酒或盛水的容器使用。推测本器烧造于16世纪后半叶，当时白瓷扁瓶主要集中生产于今韩国京畿道广州一带的官窑。

The mouth flares outward, the neck is short, and the body is rounded and flattened. Handles are attached to both sides of the body, and the vessel has an oval foot.
Iron pigment was used to paint bamboo on one side of the body and plum blossoms on the other. Variations in the density of the brushwork are visible, and the iron pigment has fired to a distinct color. Executed with concise brushstrokes and a simple composition, the decoration highlights the refined beauty of empty space characteristic of Joseon white porcelain. White porcelain glaze was applied over the entire surface of the grayish-white clay body. Traces of sand supports remain on the foot.
Bamboo, which remains green and upright throughout the four seasons, and plum blossoms, which bloom first despite the cold of early spring, resemble the virtues of the gentleman. Together with the orchid and chrysanthemum, they are called the Four Gracious Plants and were favored subjects among literati. Unlike ordinary bottles, flat bottles have flattened front and back surfaces and were used outdoors as wine or water bottles. During the late sixteenth century, when this piece is believed to have been made, white porcelain flat bottles were produced extensively at the official kilns in the Gwangju area of Gyeonggi Province.
