도자기-코담배- 먹....진지한 중국 유물 42점 경매

다보성갤러리, 9일까지 재6회 중국 문화유산 온라인 경매...저가 응찰 기회

도자기 입이 꽃입처럼 활짝 벌어져 있다. 가느다란 목 아래 어깨에는 동물의 귀처럼 생긴 좌우 장식물이 이채롭다. 파초와 모란이 피어있는 정원을 산책하는 사람들의 모습을 청화로 세세하게 그린 후 뒷 배경을 금으로 도색했다. 원나라 시대 제작된 궁궐도자기 ‘금련천막부 청화 유금 인물문 화구병’이다.  굽 바닥을 들여다보니 '금련천막부(金莲川幕府)'라고 쓰여 있다. '금련천막부'는 중국 군사 및 문무를 관장하는 원나라의 최고 관청이다. 칭기즈 칸의 손자인 쿠빌라이(1215~1249)가 ‘천하의 모든 인재를 기용하겠다(征天下名士而用之)’는 취지로 금련천막부를 설치했다. 이곳에서 원나라 여섯 황제가 즉위식을 치른 만큼 이 도자기는 궁궐에서 사용한 귀중한 유물임을 짐작케 한다.

중국 원나라 때 제작된 도자기를 비롯해 남송시대 연잎형 뚜껑이 있는 항아리, 명나라 시대  보월병(宝月瓶)과 포도송이 모양의 주전자, 복숭아 형태의 연두색 먹, 호박으로 만든 관음보살 좌상, 꽃바구니 모양의 법랑 코담배(비연호) 등 다양한 중국 문화유산 42점이 경매에 오른다. 다보성갤러리가 지난 2일 시작해 오는 9일까지 진행하는 제6회 중국 문화유산 온라인 경매를 통해서다.

최근 고금리와 고유가 현상으로 경기 불확실성이 커지면서 금이나 골동품 같은 안전자산에 뭉칫돈이 몰리고 있는 만큼 화교권의 큰손 컬렉터들이 지속적으로 고서화와 도자기를 구입하는 추세여서 국내에서 유통되는 중국 유물을 비교적 합리적인 가격에 응찰 할 수 있는 기회다.

김종춘 다보성갤러리 회장은 “다보성은 반세기 동안 인류의 중요 문화유산을 수집하여 국·공립박물관 및 국내 유수의 사립박물관에 보급해왔다”면서 “이번 경매에서는 시작가를 저렴하게 설정했기 때문에 많은 애호가들의 응찰 경쟁이 예상된다”고 전망했다.

다보성갤러리는 전략 상품으로 명나라 시대 ‘명만력 청화 백록도매병’을 비롯해 원나라 문화재 ‘금련천막부 청화 유금 인물문 화구병‘, 남송시대 ’호전요 영청 줄무늬 연잎개관‘을 전면에 내세웠다.

가장 눈길을 끄는 작품은 남송시대 도자기 ‘호전요 영청 줄무늬 연잎개관’.  추정가 300만~500만원에 출품된 이 도자기는 연잎형 뚜껑이 있는 호전요 항아리다. 호전요는 경덕진의 저명한 가마다. 작은 연꽃 모양 손잡이가 달린 뚜껑과 항아리에 청백유를 덧칠했다. 사선 무늬를 따라 빛이 반사되는 산란현상이 이채롭다.

명나라 시대 도자기 ‘요변유 쌍이보월병(窑变釉双耳宝月瓶)’ 역시 추정가 500만원~1000만원에 새 주인을 찾는다. 보월병은 둥근 보름달을 닮아 지어진 이름이다. 푸른색 유약이 칠해져 있고 요변(窑变)자기의 특징인 흑반이 드러나 있다. 요변(窑变)은 도자기 가마 속에서의 온도 변화로 인해 유약의 변색이 일어나는 것을 말한다. 푸른색과 흑반이 섞인 색감이 오묘해 마치 달 속에 우주가 담겨있는 듯한 착가을 일으킨다. 응찰은 200만원부터 시작된다.

장수를 상징하는 소나무 사이로 하얀 사슴 100마리가 뛰어 모습이 담긴  도자기  ‘명만력 청화 백록도매병’도 추정가 500만~1000만원으로 입찰대에 오른다. 도자기에 담겨진 백록(百鹿)은 ‘온갖 복록을 누리라’는 뜻이다. 사슴마다 모습이 서로 달라 감상하는 재미도 쏠쏠하다. 구연부가 작고 목이 짧으며, 어깨는 넓고 아래로 내려갈수록 살짝 좁아지며 안정감 있다. 어깨를 들여다보니 '대명만력년제(大明萬曆年製)'라는 관지가 있다. 궁궐에서 사용한 귀중한 유물임을 짐작케 한다.

명나라 건문 시기 청화 유리홍 범문 도자 6점 세트(1500만~2000만원)을 비롯해 명 홍유 포도형 주자(300만~500만원), ‘분채 화접문 걸상청대’ 등도 비교적 합리적인 가격에 경매에 부쳐진다.

출품작들은 경매 당일 9일까지 서울 종로구 경운동 다보성갤러리 4층 전시장에서 무료로 관람할 수 있다.
김종춘 회장은 "올해 말에 고가의 진귀한 중국 유물 20~30점들을 엄선해서 오프라인 경매도 진행할 예정"이라고 말했다.

Daboseong Gallery to Hold the 6th Online Auction of Chinese Cultural Heritage Until the 9th... Opportunity for Low Bids
 

The ceramic vase has an opening that flares out like a flower's petals. Below the slender neck, the shoulders are adorned with decorative elements resembling animal ears. The scene of people strolling in a garden blooming with banana trees and peonies is meticulously painted in blue and white, with the background highlighted in gold. This exquisite palace ceramic piece from the Yuan Dynasty is titled "A gold-inlaid in underglaze blue 'figural' baluster vase." The bottom of the vase is inscribed with "Jinlianchuan Mafu(金莲川幕府)." "Jinlianchuan Mafu" was the highest administrative office overseeing military and civil affairs during the Yuan Dynasty. Kublai Khan (1215-1249), the grandson of Genghis Khan, established Jinlianchuan Mafu with the intention of employing talented individuals from across the world. Given that six Yuan emperors were enthroned here, this ceramic piece is presumed to be a valuable artifact used in the palace.

A diverse collection of 42 Chinese cultural heritage items will be auctioned, including ceramics from the Yuan Dynasty, a Southern Song Dynasty lotus-shaped jar with a lid, a Ming Dynasty moon flask, a grape-shaped ewer, light green ink sticks in the shape of peaches, an amber seated figure of the Bodhisattva Guanyin, and an enamel snuff bottle shaped like a flower basket. These items are part of Daboseong Gallery's 6th Online Auction of Chinese Cultural Heritage, which began on the 2nd and runs until the 9th.

With recent economic uncertainties due to high interest rates and oil prices, there has been a significant influx of money into safe assets like gold and antiques. Consequently, affluent collectors in the Chinese community are continually purchasing ancient paintings and ceramics. This auction presents an opportunity to bid on Chinese artifacts circulating in Korea at relatively reasonable prices.

Kim Jong-chun, Chairman of Daboseong Gallery, stated, "For half a century, Daboseong has collected important cultural heritage of humanity and supplied it to national, public, and prominent private museums in Korea. Since the starting prices are set low in this auction, we anticipate fierce bidding competition among enthusiasts."

Daboseong Gallery has strategically highlighted key items such as the Ming Dynasty’s “A blue and white 'pine and deer' meiping vase, mark and period of Wanli,” the Yuan Dynasty artifact “A gold-inlaid in underglaze blue 'figural' baluster vase,” and the Southern Song Dynasty’s “A carved Hutian Qingbai lobed jar and cover.”

The most eye-catching piece is the Southern Song Dynasty ceramic “A carved Hutian Qingbai lobed jar and cover.” This jar with a lotus-shaped lid, estimated at 3 to 5 million KRW, hails from the renowned kiln of Jingdezhen. The lid and jar are covered in Qingbai glaze, with light scattering intriguingly along the diagonal patterns.

Another Ming Dynasty ceramic, “A robin's egg-glazed moon flask” estimated at 5 to 10 million KRW, also seeks a new owner. Named for its resemblance to a full moon, this moon flask features a blue glaze with black speckles characteristic of Yaobian porcelain. This effect, caused by kiln temperature changes, creates a mystical impression as if the universe is contained within the moon. Bidding starts at 2 million KRW.

“A blue and white 'pine and deer' meiping vase, mark and period of Wanli,” featuring 100 white deer among pine trees symbolizing longevity, is estimated at 5 to 10 million KRW. Each deer is uniquely depicted, adding to the viewing pleasure. The vase has a small mouth, short neck, wide shoulders, and narrows slightly towards the base, providing stability. The shoulder bears the mark “Daming Wanli Nianzhi(大明萬曆年製),” indicating its use in the palace.

Other items up for relatively reasonable auction include “A group of six underglaze-blue and copper-red porcelains, mark and period of Jianwen (1500 to 2000 million KRW),” a “A red-glazed grape-form ewer (3 to 5 million KRW),” and the “A famille-rose 'butterfly and floral' chair.”

The auction items can be viewed for free until the auction day on the 9th at the Daboseong Gallery exhibition hall on the 4th floor in Gyeonun-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. Chairman Kim Jong-chun mentioned, "We plan to hold an offline auction later this year featuring 20 to 30 carefully selected high-value Chinese artifacts."
