북송 정요(定窯)에서 제작된 백자 병입니다. 둥근 구형의 몸체 위로 긴 목과 굽은 구연이 이어집니다. 목 하부에는 원반형의 돌출된 구조가 있고, 목 상부와 구연은 봉황의 머리 형상으로 제작되었습니다. 봉황의 벼슬과 눈, 부리, 비늘 등이 정교하게 묘사되어 봉황의 모습이 사실적으로 표현되었습니다.
몸체에는 각화(刻花) 기법으로 봉황과 구름 문양이, 어깨에는 연판문(蓮瓣紋)이 시문되었습니다. 문양은 모두 굵고 간결한 선각으로 나타냈습니다. 봉황은 날개를 펼치고 긴 꼬리를 휘날리며 날고 있는 모습으로 표현되었습니다. 봉황은 태평성대와 천자(天子)를 상징하는 존재로, 북송 시기 황실 및 고급 도자에 주로 사용된 문양입니다.
굽바닥에는 '景德元年(경덕원년)'이라는 관지가 음각으로 새겨져 있습니다. '景德(경덕)'은 북송 3대 황제 진종(眞宗, 재위 997~1022)의 두 번째 연호이며, 1004년부터 1007년까지 사용되었습니다. 경덕 원년은 1004년으로 이 유물의 제작 연도를 추정할 수 있습니다. 이 유물은 기형과 구조로 보아 의례용이나 부장품으로 사용하기 위해 제작된 것으로 보입니다.
此瓶于北宋时期定窑烧制。器身呈圆润的球形，上接细长颈部，口沿微外撇。颈部下方设有盘状凸起结构，颈部上端及口沿塑作凤首状。凤凰的冠羽、眼睛、喙部及鳞羽等细节刻画精致，形象生动写实。
器身以刻花技法装饰凤凰与祥云纹样，肩部施以莲瓣纹。纹饰线条遒劲而简练，刀法利落。凤凰展翅翱翔，长尾飞扬，姿态矫健。凤凰象征太平盛世与天子权威，是北宋时期多见于皇室及高等级瓷器上的重要纹样。
圈足内阴刻“景德元年”款。“景德”为北宋第三位皇帝宋真宗（997~1022年在位）的第二个年号，使用于1004年至1007年。其中“景德元年”是公元1004年，可知本器的制作年代。结合其器形与结构判断，该器应为礼仪用器或随葬明器。
This is a white porcelain bottle produced at the Ding kilns during the Northern Song Dynasty. A long neck and curved mouth extend from the round, spherical body. A disc-shaped structure protrudes from the lower part of the neck, while the upper neck and mouth are shaped like the head of a phoenix. The phoenix’s crest, eyes, beak, and scales are intricately depicted, creating a realistic representation of the mythical bird.
The body is decorated with incised phoenix and cloud designs using the carved flower technique, and the shoulder features a lotus petal pattern. All patterns are rendered in bold, concise incised lines. The phoenix is depicted flying with its wings spread and long tail fluttering. Symbolizing a peaceful reign and the Son of Heaven (the Emperor), the phoenix was a motif primarily used on imperial and high-quality ceramics during the Northern Song period.
On the base of the foot, the inscription 'Jingde Yuannian' (Jingde First Year) is incised. 'Jingde' was the second era name of Emperor Zhenzong (r. 997–1022), the third emperor of the Northern Song, and was used from 1004 to 1007. 'Jingde First Year' corresponds to 1004, which allows for the estimation of this artifact's production date. Judging by its form and structure, this piece appears to have been produced for ceremonial use or as a burial item.
